Recently,our design team at Transforming Gardens, was asked to undertake a one day makeover of a tired, unloved Gold Coast garden. The property was overgrown and dark and the brief was to allow more light and create an open feeling in the garden.
The inclusion of colour and a focus on low maintenance plants, was a priority. The one day makeover, was a surprise for the clients elderly mother. The photos below give anindication of the state of the garden, prior to the renovation.The grass was non existent and the canopy and vegetation was shading the property and there was no defined garden borders and definitely no colour.
Our team, imported premium underturf and topsoil to the site and laid Sir Walter turf, to create a luxuriant green foil for the garden beds. We used a plant palette that consisted of Cordylines, bromeliads, Alternanthera, Dracaena, Ixora, Nandina and Asplenium, with a colour splash of Impatiens.The result was fantastic.
